Bad Bunny’s super bowl performance faced many mixed reactions. Although many records were broken, much criticism came from the millions of people who viewed the half-time show.
Broken Records
History occurred at Levi’s stadium on February 8th. Famous trap Latino and reggaeton artist, Bad Bunny, performed at one of the biggest sports events of the year. His hard work and dedication to his music has allowed him to climb the musical industry and advance his career.
“If I am here today at the 60th super bowl, it is because I never stopped believing in myself,” said Bad Bunny.
His success is on display as he is the first Latino artist to perform at the Super Bowl twice within the 21st century. He has also been recognized for winning three categories at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
Bad Bunny continues to break records while simultaneously standing up for the Latino community.
When accepting his awards at the Grammy's, Bad Bunny spoke out about the difficulties that many Latino immigrants have recently faced, specifically the issues involving ICE, a federal agency under homeland security.
Controversy
Latino representation was displayed during the half-time show performance. Not only does Bad Bunny strictly speak Spanish throughout the entirety of the show, but he also shout-outs all of the Latin American countries. While doing so, he brings out numerous flags to help give visual recognition.
Despite doing his best to bring unity with this performance, Bad Bunny faces much criticism.

“The only thing stronger than hate is love.”
Many super bowl attendees have posted this quote on social media. Some have embraced the idea of appreciating this cultural unity, whereas others found this to be controversial.
Rumors
Rumors persist around Liam Ramos’ presence at the half-time show. Many believe that Liam, a 5-year-old boy who was previously detained by ICE, was seen being handed a grammy by Bad Bunny.
However, it has been confirmed that he was not featured, and it in fact was a different boy who was at the show.
A separate rumor involving a wedding has been confirmed to be real. Bad Bunny continues to use his platform to spread love during a time of upheaval.
Surprise guests
Lady Gaga’s unexpected presence has brought light to a previous interaction she had with Bad Bunny.
At the 2026 Grammy awards, she was seen approaching Bad Bunny. It seemed as if he got startled when he felt a hand on his shoulder, but he later relaxed when he realized that it was Lady Gaga.
After being blacklisted for many years, famous singer of “Livin’ La Vida Loca” Ricky Martin has resurfaced. Despite his short screen time, he managed to sing the chorus from Bad Bunny’s “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAiii.”
Other famous celebrities were spotted on stage (La Casita), including:
Karol G
Cardi B
Pedro Pascal
Jessica Alba
Young Miko
What comes next
The half-time show performance wasn’t only a historical moment. It was a defining experience for many Latin-Americans.
Although Bad Bunny will not tour in the United States for 2026, he will continue to pave the way for many Latinos.
His tour will allow for more people to know what Spanish-speaking music is like.
The goal is to bring everyone together within the Americas.
“Juntos, somos América.” -Bad Bunny
